A bit last minute but we are headed to New York again - @_cmikk has a conference in Brooklyn. We ran the menu at the @meteor_mpls Black Lagoon preview and it was delicious. The Nightcrawler was definitely my favorite. If you couldn’t make it tonight, don’t worry - Meteor will be hosting the @blacklagoonpopup for all of October! Facebook memories popped up yesterday with a reminder our most extreme day of "bar tag" ever - nine London bars in one day. While it's not a record I care to beat (the very thought exhausts me), it was a good reminded that I promised to make a post about our idea of Bar Tag and how to "play" it well. Even if you don’t want to visit nine bars in a day (and I don’t recommend it), my Bar Tag guidelines will help you get better recommendations and, in turn, help you find more cool spots. I've been meaning to explain WHY I started tracking the 50 Best Bars list ever since my spreadsheet went slightly viral (by spreadsheet standards) - but decided to point out some of the issues I have with it when an Instagram post made that more relevant. Now I'm finally back to finish my original post..... The kid is moved into their new apartment (on the third floor, without an elevator) and seems happy. Time for the parents to celebrate! While most of my birthday was spent enjoying the blue skies in the National park, it started with coffee @inkwellbrew (a combination coffee and stationary shop? Yes please!) and continued to steak dinner, a px sherry Manhattan, and whisky at The Stanley Hotel. Today was a picture perfect bluebird day in Rocky Mountain National Park. We drove Trail Ridge Road with several stops for tundras and views, then went further over to the Colorado River Trailhead. We didn’t manage to capture the meteor shower, but some distant car lights lit up the meadow at the perfect moment for this shot. Hauled all of my camera gear to Colorado, now just trying to remember how to use it. Thankfully it’s hard to mess up too badly when the views are this beautiful.
